Brushwork

So much attention is

usually placed on

“technique” but for me it’s

really about knowledge

of the flexibility of your

brush, paint and let’s not

forget the rest: design,

shape, color value

edges!

This Fall 2016 into Spring 2017 session will be focusing on your handling of the paint & brush and how it effects your painting. We will also be discussing our artistic mindset and will apply positive affirmations!

And, as always, I will  diffuse a few essential oils to relax you and help you focus & concentrate while you paint!

This calming effect is addictive!

Developing painting skills is addictive!

I’m happy to say, my painting classes are addictive!

I welcome any level, from beginner to advanced into my painting classes. The principals of art are always the structure while also allowing freedom from “rules” to enhance creativity.

This is my “Art Therapy”…

Student Testimonials

“Using a limited palette was one of the exercises that Kathy Cooper incorporated into her ateliér last year. Of all that I’ve learned from Kathy – and that’s a great deal – this was one of the most practical and beneficial in terms of understanding color. I believe I’ve truly grown my artistic ability by using the limited palette.”

– Ellen Hurley

Bedford, MA

“When Kathy began our study of color, we all complained about the limited palette. Now I realize how valuable a lesson it was. After a year of using white, yellow, red and blue almost exclusively, I find I can match almost any color I see in nature. Using a limited palette allows me to recognize the relationship of colors, and how to push a color cool or warm by a touch of one of the primaries.” Thanks Kathy!
